Policy for Linking to RTAnswers.org

RTAnswers.org is owned and operated by the American Society for Radiation Oncology and provides links from RTAnswers.org to third-party websites as a convenience to our visitors. RTAnswers.org and ASTRO have no control over these third party websites. RTAnswers.org and ASTRO do not endorse the content, operators, products or services of such sites. RTAnswers.org and ASTRO are not responsible (directly or indirectly) for any damages or injury caused by or in connection with use of any such content, products or services available through third-party sites.

Requests to Add a Link from RTAnswers.org:

To request that a website be added as a link from RTAnswers.org, please complete and return the Request to Link Form. All requests for links to third-party websites are reviewed by ASTRO or its agents. ASTRO will consider factors including, but not limited to, the criteria listed below. Applicants will be approved/rejected by ASTRO or its agents in their sole discretion.

Third-party Website Review Criteria (not all inclusive):

  • Website content must be medically and factually accurate and related to the subject matters on the site.
  • Website publicly and clearly identifies its source(s) of funding (donations, grants, sponsorships, etc.).
  • Website content is primarily educational in nature and website/organization offers specific programs, services and information that directly impact and assist people affected by cancer.
  • Website content must be frequently and routinely updated. Visitors can easily find the date the information was last updated.
  • Website offers a mechanism for its users to provide feedback on its content
  • Website must have a reasonable written privacy policy that is publicly available on the website.
  • Website awards or other endorsements by external organizations (such as the HON code principles of The Health On the Net Foundation) are taken into consideration.
  • The reputation of the organization that owns, endorses and/or manages the website is taken into consideration.

If you believe that any of the third-party linked sites contain inappropriate material unrelated to the RTAnswers.org or ASTRO mission, please contact us at rtanswers@astro.org, so that we may take appropriate action. RTAnswers.org and ASTRO will consider all such requests but shall have no obligation to remove any links or respond.

We request that all parties requesting a link on RTAnswers.org add a reciprocal link on their site.

If you are interested in linking to RTAnswers.org, please notify us by sending an email including your name, your organization name, contact information (such as a phone number and/or email address) as well as the URL of your site and a list of any URLs from which you intend to link to RTAnswers.org.
